Just yesterday, the Scotia Bank stated that the housing market has gone "soft". I love how they carefully select special words to give us the bad news. Where I live, the condo's are no selling & they are not high end pricing. Also, there is some rumours that the banks will increase lending rates for mortgages. We've been lucky so far, but I don't know if we will hit rock bottom like the US. I hope not. |

Thread: Canada’s housing prices on average twice that of American houses??? wtf google housing bubble canada - you'll see SO many articles where they said canada was going to have a massive crash and it didn't. the articles are dated from years past. so regardless of what you read, it isn't happening in canada. canada is special and unique. plus we are smart. you'll never see a US style crash! 100% sure. |

We've been lucky so far, but I don't know if we will hit rock bottom like the US. I hope not. Well, in the large cities where prices are so inflated, prices are not really coming down. Yes, it's slow, but prices are NOT dropping. What's happening is a strange thing. Buyers are not desperate to buy and sellers are not desperate to sell. So there is this tug of war going on. Instead of sellers reducing their asking price, they are pulling their properties off the market. So while sales are slow, prices are not dropping any time soon. Well, not dropping drastically like what happened in the US. |
