The going to the Christmas party without you is no big deal. I (single guy) took a married woman to a Christmas party. No problem - there was nothing going on between us. Heck, I know her husband...I would not go down that road.

Now...the staying at the hotel...without you...ummm, I am not a big fan of that. The hotel room USUALLY means people are too drunk to drive home. The too drunk to drive home ALSO MAY mean "too drunk to make right moral choices."
