as little as 15 years ago I could still look at the sun.

Now im flat out even looking into the sky....its so damn WHITE now...and it STINGS your skin..even in winter.

The reason wha the sun looked more gold-ish yellow over a decade ago is because a lot more (unfiltered) pollution was going on there and the century ahead.
Now the atmosphere is cleaner, so more wavelengths are getting through. Simple as that.

That s you getting older. The sun is still the sun.

I don't know, but could feel the sun stinging on the back of my neck as I was driving. Not sure just maybe more aware!

Then how come my 14 year old daughter asked me the other day if that sun has always been so blinding and stunging..and I had NOT mention it to her.

I don't think you or anyone else who's experiencing this are just more aware. I think the heavier pollution when we - the slightly older folks - were growing up was somewhat protecting us from the rays.
Being of south american-indian acestry, I've never ever experienced sunburns, stinging and the like in my youth. Not even when I was outside in the summer sun all day in southern europe. But now, almost two decades later, when I go outside in the summer, after a few minutes it just feels unpleasant. If I don't 'listen' to my skin I get sunburned - WFT?
I don't get it. I sometimes just want to enjoy summer as I did as a teenager, but I can't :-/

I lived in the outback when I was young..FAR from any pollution...the stars were clear and bright..and the SUN WAS YELLOW..

I was in the outback two years ago...the stars were STILL clear and bringt..but the sun is BLINDING WHITE...and all the others who had spen any time out there noticed it too.

What a crock of shit

The sun is still the sun but it is a white now, I see it too. But I can look right into it now, whereas ten years ago, I couldn't.

They can shill all they like but it does not change the fact that the sun has changed. It was yellow and you could look at it. You could see it was a ball. people used to go out to watch the sunset while they had a drink.

Yesterday it was soo bad you could not even look in it's general direction for more than a millionth of a second. What you did see of it, looked nothing like a ball just a massive super white, glaring blob.

I was not trying to look at the sun, I was trying to watch a bird that visits my garden who happened to fly of in the sun's direction. Also the UV index has been set at Extreem all week here.

It maybe that the ozone layer or something between earth and sun has changed. Even old painting show the sun as it was, up until recent years.

The Sun was unusually bright today and warm. I thought it was due to the heightened solar activity.

You can? It is the exact opposite here. It is impossible to see if you are driving even with sunglasses. I have to put my hand on the sunvisor to help block it out. Can't get anywhere near looking at it.

when i was a kid the sun was yellow or orange , never white.
im 39 ... Must admit its only the last 10 years or so that it seems to bright to look at and white.

Can't even look in the direction of the sun now it's so bright and white. Eeeek!!!! Getting worse...what is going on?
