If you were a CEO for a big corporation would you opt to make less so your workers could make more?

Irrelevant question.

Would a person with the capabilities and personality required to be a ceo opt to make less so his workers could make more?

The answer is no.

Here is a question:

Do YOU have more money than someone else?
If you do... then why don't you give your extra to them?

I agree. There are loads of people who want to split other peoples money, shoot they can start by splitting their own.

This isn't about forcing other people to split their money, the OP is simply asking if you had the good fortune to become a well off CEO would you take a wage cut so your OWN employees could be a bit better off. That's it.

They don't get it, according to most Republicans, Fox News viewers etc. the idea of millionaires or billionaires paying their employees anything above minimum wage is socialism or class warfare.

When YOU agree to giving some of what you have to others who are less fortunate than yourself... Then we can take you seriously.

it's a great thing to makes lots of money but, it's no fun unless you share with the ones that helped you make it.

This is the correct attitude to have, not that damn "greed is good" mindset. If all the MBA programs instilled this sensibility into their students, we'd probably not be in the current economic mess we're in now!

Re: If you were a CEO for a big corporation would you opt to make less so your workers could make more?
If YOU were a CEO would you opt out of significantly less money so lets say your average worker could make more? If this were possible of course. Lets say for the sake of argument you made 5 mil per year. Would YOU drop your wage to 1 mil per year so and give your employess higher raises?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24513878

For any company where the CEO made 5 mil, the 4 mil wouldn't make hardly any difference in the payroll. You have the same misconception as those who want to tax the rich. There simply aren't enough rich people.

Consider this...The richest man in the world Bill Gates...hasn't stopped working yet....does that mean he needs more money? Obviously he does....so the moral of the story is.....I've never heard anyone complaining because they had too much money...
