United States 12/13/2012 07:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | HELP! Exercise question.. I'm split between two different ways of approaching pull ups/pushups. The first obvious way is to do a quick pushup or pull up workout to failure every other day. The second way i've heard is to do them throughout the day and never go to failure while increasing the volume everyday. I'm not looking to gain mass so my goal is just to build strength but i'd like to hear peoples input. Right now I usually do pull ups a few times a day for 3 reps each time. I'll do them really slow and controlled so each set takes about 15-25 seconds. |

For pushups, set aside a short block of time once a day, and do 3 sets, doing as many as you can in each set. Rest briefly (3 or 4 minutes) between each set. And concentrate on form. Don't bounce your chest off the floor. Just touch the floor and come back up. This will build your triceps and chest. For more concentration on your chest, have a wide stance with your hands. If you want to concentrate more on your triceps, have a narrower stance with your hands. Apollo astronauts couldn't have passed through Van Allen's Belt. Van Allen wore suspenders. |

Add in a 20 min cardio of some sort five times a week, and you are golden!
Peace! |
