Loud (Sonic/thunderous) Boom just heard on west coast of Florida 12/13/2012 9;20pm EST.

Hmm well 9:30 is firework time at disney but your near Tampa that cant be it strange indeed.

I heard a very loud rumbling noise like thunder yesterday there was not a cloud in the sky. It happened three times. I live on the south coast of NSW Australia. My brother rang me today and said he heard loud explosions yesterday he lives in Melbourne victoria Australia. These seem to be world wide phenomenon at the moment there are reports coming in from everywhere around the world. Strange indeed

Same booms here now where I live in the UK, sounds like a shotgun blast. Booms here stated 3 days ago in the morning.

MY GAAUUD, I just heard this non stop rumbling, loud as hell.
I thought it was the Disney fireworks, then I thought it was too loud. I looked outside, it sounded like a neighbor was dragging a metal trash can....

I'm really nervous tonight.

What region of Florida are you in? I havent heard anything else. I really wanted to see the shower but this cloud cover is ruining it again....

I'm West of Orlando, Davenport and Four Corners area.
It was really loud and not like the Disney fireworks I hear every night of my life.
Its overcast and cold. I heard my neighbors outside and assumed they were dragging some heavy metal object. I looked and they weren't doing anything.

NORAD has flight exercise over FL, so sonic booms from jets could account for sounds from Louisiana to FL, because the planes cover so much mileage in turn-arounds.

Tonight is part of the two-day peak for the Geminid Meteor Showers. This is debris from an asteroid not a comet, so there are actual chunks of rock breaking up & burning up in the atmosphere. They do make noise, they do crash to the ground. Some can be big. That could definitely explain some of it.

LOL What was that. What was that. Thats the sound of the Earth as it groans and pulls itself apart. Thats what that is. Earthquake booms and rumbles.

Have you guys not figured out that its almost Bug Out Time. Never before have there been so much noise coming from the earth in the history of man. There weren't all these reports last year even. As we approach the Winter Solstis the noises are getting louder and lounder and increasing in magnitude and strength and quantity. HELLO. Still in denial everybody...!

Live in Pinellas Co south of Clearwater and heard loud booms twice this weekend. Once last night (12/15) and another this evening around 6:45. Strangely like a huge gunshot or firework, not sonic boom but these were at different parts of town neither of which would be near any guns and no reason fireworks would go off especially 2 days in a row. I was with my folks during the 2nd one And no one could figure out where it came from. This is how I found the thread... Looking for an answer.

Those are the plates cracking underneath your feet. That would be my best guess.
