I always thought Popeye was Anglo and Olive was Hispanic so I guess that means Spanish Olive Oil.

Op, there was an article on GLP yrs ago,not in the search anymore, but had link, it stated that a number of olive oils from around the world were less than %100 olive

one thing I do remember about it said that California produces more olive oil than it produces olives to make that oil, so go European by default !

Ditch that olive oil and go with coconut oil :) Tastes nothing like coconut and gives your food a great flavor! :)

Almost all Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Spain is far better than Italian Oil. Since I was a child I've seen how the worst oil coming from the worst Spanish cooperatives is purchased by Italian companies that bottled it to sell it as Italian.

More than that: Oil coming from Les Garrigues (a region in the north est of Spain, in Catalonia) is recognised to be the best olive oil you can buy from a cooperative, direct from the mill to your house.

I've found this to be true, generally...

But, no need to be a foodie - The cheaper non-virgin oils are generally better for cooking... The lighter vigin oils frm Spain or Greece seem better for rubbing and such, lol...

The darker the oil the better the oil generally. The sun is the most important aspect of the olive and Spain has the best olive oil in the world.
