What if...this "uncontrolled" satellite is subject to atmospheric drag and starts re-entry soon. It will get lower and lower in orbit until on 12/21, when the descending orbital path is crossing just above America, the EMP package on this "weather satellite" happens to detonate?

I think it would still take a couple of years for it to come down. The drag is so slight that it wouldn't just fall out of the sky immediately.

Do you honestly believe that NK has weaponized EMP technology? It's still unconfirmed that *the US* has weaponized EMP, nevermind some technological backwater like NK.

Sure sure, a detonated nuke sends out an EMP, but it's bloody inefficient and, at that point, I'd be more concerned about the explosive damage and radiation than any EMP from it.

A nuke isnt an inefficient way to EMP an area.

Its a great way actually, the radiation super charges the Ions in the Atmosphere creating a blanket of magnetic energy that lingers due to high atmosphere static induced friction.

Either NK lets nations such as Russia, China and US monitor ALL DATA and have a Link to said satellites, or we shoot them down with lasers and patriots. Simple enough solution to a country that is still technically at war with the US, and a tyrannical dictatorship that rather spend money on their satellites than food for it's people.


This should be the only resolution set forth by nations of power. Let them have it and let space nations monitor it(The nations that actually know what they are doing and have been up there many times) Or be destroyed.
