Does anyone know if there is any alternative treatment for thyroid replacement hormone? I know there are herbs that are recommended to "aid" deficient thyroid & adrenal function, but I had to have my thyroid gland removed because of severe Hashimoto's (autoimmune disease), so there isn't anything left for herbs to "aid".

I currently take Armour Thyroid, not the synthetic stuff. Does anyone know if there is a way to make a "DIY" preparation at home from either animal or human thyroid glands that would keep the worst of the terrible symptoms at a manageable level?
