That was 2 Quakes Southwest of California: 6.4 AND 6.1
I was trying to see if this was posted in the other thread, but am too excited to do so thoroughly. Even though the USGS is not saying two quakes at this time, other sources are:

Two earthquakes struck 17 seconds apart Friday off the coast of California, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The first quake, with a magnitude of 6.4, struck at a depth of 6 miles, about 163 miles southwest of the nearest city, Avalon, on California’s Santa Catalina Island, at 2:36 a.m. PT (5:36 a.m. ET), the USGS said.

Moments later, a second quake, measuring 6.1 at a depth of nearly 7 miles, struck 88 miles southwest of Avalon, according to the USGS.

Yes, they are basically on top of each other on the Global incident map. Could this map be wrong? Why is USGS not reporting this? [link to quakes.globalincidentmap.com]

Ok. I think the global incident map must be wrong. [link to quakes.globalincidentmap.com] If you zoom in, there are a bunch of quakes in the area.

And I just found this: [link to www.thedailybeast.com] which says that after looking at the info they get, they decided there was one quake.

USGS.Gov under reporting for a couple years now. Look and see if any quakes reported in Utah by them. I did none!
