I guarantee that what we're being told about this shooting is bullshit.

I don't buy it.........I saw it break on MSNBC and knew it was nothing more than a setup.

Anytime something real happens like this it is confined to the local area and NOT broadcast on ALL networks like this.

I too am not against owning and useing guns as long as they are not used in a crime... That is the problem.. Anyone can get a gun and commit a crime with it. But at the same time there are a thousand other things people can kill with.. For example.. Cars... Alcohol... Drugs... Cigarettes.. Lighters... Bleach...Fertilizer... Electricity... Food... and so on. I hope you see my point.. It's not the average person committing intentional crimes of this magnitude. But these crimes can be committed by anyone with almost anything if the desire is there. What we as a nation is to find out what causes this desire to trigger and do our best to prevent it. But it will never happen.. Too many people in the world existing in their own minds..

I agree. Guns do give those sick twisted fucks an advantage.
But how much more of an advantage would they have if we law abiding citizens were not allowed to have the same guns for self defense?

156,000+ people die every single day. That's over 100 people dead every single minute. That is men, women and children. EVERYTHING that gets put on media is for an agenda. They are using everyone's emotions to push their agenda. What better way to piss people off than to target kids and put fear into everyone. Fear is their number one weapon and many are falling into the trap.

on the one hand i agree that a ban on guns wouldnt fix this, but there really should be far, far more stringent and regular checks on gun owners mental health, at least that way you are doing as much as possible to limit the possibility of repeat like this

this happened ONCE in the uk, and they banned handguns, but there wasnt a fuss really because british people dont feel the need to own a gun, unlike many americans

its definitely a cultural thing

it just amazes me that this keeps happening, and people weep, and then shrug it off til it happens again

So because there was a shooting at one of the thousands of theaters that means none of them are safe? Because there is a shooting at a school every once in a while that means the thousands of schools with millions of students are not safe?

I think television overall is a dying commodity so it'll do anything for ratings.
But whether there is more to this, is another story. But trust, there is nothing sacred anymore and everything is up for grabs.
