Unfortunately this kind of thing happened before in the UK, a place called dunblane (1996). Again this was a school targetted , and licensed weapons used. The response here in the uk was to ban many types of guns, i think something along these lines may well happen now in the USA. We here in the UK had lost rights to own semi auto rifles after a previous incident in a place in the UK called Hungerford. Shortly afterwards (1996) we lost the rights to own hand guns completely. Licensed rifles and shotguns for hunting are still permitted here , but licenses are only granted after very strict vetting. |

Eventually, they will get a standard story together and it will become the “official” one. Meanwhile, the parents of 20 children will grieve and hurt in a way that can never be healed in this lifetime. The perpetrator is dead. He cannot tell what happened. Neither can the shooter in Oregon. Neither can the nurse in London. Nor can many mind-controlled victims. |

Ryan was at work and leaves work to find all that on his FB. He posted there his innocence. The twitter wasn't his brothers but another Ryan Lanza. Probably had NO idea at the time that his family was involved until he arrived home. Don't know the kid nor am I standing up for him and how he responded, but I know I probably would freak out too if I was being called a murderer and being told to rot in hell and die. I just don't think we can jump to conclusions until we know all sides. What his brother did was HORRIBLE and UNSPEAKABLE. Those poor children in that school, their teachers, and their families are what we really need to keep on our hearts. We should also remember that the victims of the man who did this horrible act aren't their son or brother. They are hurting too and will probably receive so much ridicule and loss because they were simply related to a murderer. Just keep it all in perspective guys. My prayers go to all the families. I work with kids and can't imagine losing one of them. Well, it's a little weird. I mean, if I'm so connected to Facebook, I must, by extension, be connected to the internet a lot as well. He would have known about the incident already. If someone said a perpetrator was identified with my name, killed people in my hometown, at my mother’s place of work, and I had a sibling with a severe developmental problem (who might have my ID), I might think there was some connection there (as would everyone else I know). Defending my Facebook reputation would not be the first thing I’d be concerned with. Just sayin'. Except that his mother didn't really work at that school. ABC news says she was a teacher's aide, Fox is saying she was a substitute teacher but the PTA and the WSJ are reporting no one knew who she was from the school. It is possible that when he posted he had no idea that his mother or brother were involved. |
