It sounds like they had a key? I'd start with management. Make sure to file a police report too, that way if the stuff turns up you can get it back. i did file a police report the office lady says will thats all u can do even when i told her someone got in my locked door i have a suspicion about maintenance too they can get in with a key No, that's not all they can do. They should change the locks. I had a break in years ago when someone stole my purse (with my house keys and address on my drivers license). The police came out and fingerprinted everything, and waited with me until a locksmith changed the locks (it took nearly 3 hrs.) If someone has illegal entry to your apt, that is against the law and your landlady not doing anything about it is a lawsuit. What if they come back to finish the job when you are home and get violent? I remember not feeling safe even after the locks were changed. You really need to push the landlord or call the local news and tell them about this. Something will get done then. In the meantime, I would buy some cheap alarms to put on the doors-the kind that shriek when separated-so at least you know if someone is breaking in when you are home. I don't know how you can stay there with your kids after all this. Its not safe!! Take a stand for your safety! "Fortune, honour, beauty, youth are but blossoms dying. | Anonymous Coward User ID: 27352798 12/16/2012 11:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | MY apt was broke into yesterday eve Quoting: ttowngirl they took my daughters nook mp3 player touch she just got for christmas my phone and my kids dsi my kids are really upset so am i no christmas this year :( any remote viewers or psychics any info i can use? On the phone account you can view the calls that are likely still being made. Sleuth around a little, call some of those numbers that are showing up on your online account, or see if your kids recognize any of the numbers being called. If the thief changed the number for the phone, that can be tracked, also (the new number). Go to the local pawn shops to see if your items have been pawned. Watch craigslist in your town and neighboring towns for your items. Put up reward-for-information signs all around your apartment complex with pictures of your stuff. If you don't have actual pictures, get similar pics off internet. Change the locks on your apartment. One of your kids friends may have duplicated your house key. Do your kids carry their key?? It's not that hard to do, if they leave the key in a backpack all day. |

Asking for a psychic after being robbed is like asking for a neighbor for water to help put out a grease fire in your kitchen. Not wise. |

Change your locks and be vigilant, could be someone you know. Are there security cameras around? They were prodded by someone else you know, a female. Quoting: Leslie Zevo Yes...I feel the same. ..."The soul is dyed the color of its thoughts. I don't know how you can stay there with your kids after all this. Its not safe!! Take a stand for your safety! The window alarms are a good idea. Years ago I lived in an apt. with a fire escape that all kinds of crazy people used to do whatever. I actually caught someone trying to get in..very scary as my kids were little then. Anyway, my husband put one of those alarms on the window. it was really, really loud and darn if it didn't go off from time to time. After reading through the thread it looks like someone had a key, unless of course someone forgot to lock the door. If it's someone in the area it's easy for them to see when you leave your apt. so they can go and take what they want. Pursue it with management. ..."The soul is dyed the color of its thoughts.
