I'm a single man who's going to start wearing a wedding ring
I'm a single man in my early 20s.

Things in life were good up until recently. I went on a pretty ascetic diet and exercise regimen, lost a ton of fat and really redefined my body.

I've started getting increased attention from females, which would be okay except for the fact I took a religious vow of celibacy/abstinence, so I don't want to act on my impulses or pursue any type of relationship with them.

So here I am, getting hit on to the point of it being uncomfortable. I decided the best way to resolve this is to start wearing a wedding band (or some other ring on my ringfinger; not sure I could afford an actual wedding ring) so that women will see I'm 'taken' and back off.

Will this work? Thoughts?

Wear a wedding band and you will really start getting attention.

The only thing that wont work is the celibacy/abstinence, unless of course your hormones/neurotransmitters are at low levels (as in per-pubescent levels).

Otherwise it'd be like trying to resist sleep, thirst, hunger, and you'd be successful in the short term, but in the long term you'd eventually crack (everyone always does ... EVERYONE!).

WTF?

This is unbelievable.

Women are more attracted to unavailable guys, like husbands or gays?

Dammit. Maybe I should just try to be really creepy, overbearing and eager? That'd get them to leave me alone, though it would be kind of embarrassing.

After getting in shape and starting to take better care of myself, my sex drive is through the roof.

I manage by channeling it into other pursuits. Sublimation, and all that. Works better than trying to 'deny' it.

Yup. Men are competitive with cars, jobs, sports ... women are competitive with each other and appearance. Sadly. Men will respect another man's woman but women see another woman's man as MORE temptation. If the wife is pretty it's even more of an ego boost for her to seduce the guy. Sadly, women have very little to no sense of sisterhood. gangup

Act needy and clingy. If a woman comes on to you that you're not interested in, text her and call her and email her all day long and complain about your sinuses or how much your back hurts or you think you're coming down with the flu. She'll avoid you like the plague.

Back in my 20's, a single friend of mine would wear a wedding ring and hit the clubs. He would get hit on by every drooling x-chromosome in a country mile. He did it specifically TO get hit on, and it worked. In spades.

A wedding ring on a man signifies he can make a commitment, be loyal, provide for a wife and family, and is wanted and loved by another woman. These are all attractive qualities to a woman.

YES..they ARE.

I was married for ten years.

In that ten years I was hassled by MANY women..had I been an asshole I could have fucked a new one every two days.

But I was faithful.

Then I got divorced because SHE was unfaithful to ME with..guess what..ANOTHER MARRIED MAN who did NOT resist..

ANd since ive taken my wedding ring off..NOTHING..not a peep.

DONT PUT THAT RING ON DUE..JUST DONT!

I have thought about doing the same thing for years.

Now I just stare at them.

Their deluded minds think that I am a rapist or something, and stay away from me.

All I am doing is mirroring what they do to me.

Go figure!

omg. this is so true! I always avoided the guys who talked about living with their mom, or if they had kidney stones and what kind the doctors think it is. and they have had this athletes foot type infection on their balls forever and all the prescription creams wont get rid of it.

Ask her if she knows of a good athletes foot rememdy. and what do crabs and herpes look like? that will get them off the phone fast!

and yes women are worms. I avoid almsot all of them. I see the games they play and they act all pure but are the cheatenist of all.

The quality of women who will be attracted to you will be a lot worse - immoral ones.

You will just have to learn to shield.

Women have to do this all the time.

Just say no.
