It was very diffiult for her as she stayed home while her husband worked. It became damn near impossible for them to pay the bills on one income. She could not have done it as a single mom if they had split up, she admits this. With the monumental amount of single mothers and breakups of marriages I can see how difficult a prospect it is for mother and fathers to take on. Not that it is not entirely right to do it. Sisters kids came out brilliant. Was worth the time. But just making folks aware that it takes a strong family to make it work. I feel sorry for those who cannot do it. Feel worse for the kids. Live within your means...simple. You would rather have nice shit than looking after your child's education. The thread title is right, you are an asshole. I live on a Indian reservation to stay Away from People like you. And im home schooling my kid. The books they teach our kids are all lies.. And my heart goes out to the Parents that are going home tonight without there babys. Like my people that died at Wounded Knee Massacre. From Who? White People that hate on all other colors. Hummm Good Luck on that safe White Community, when shit hits the fan... Quoting: native beauty You are a racist, plain and simple. I have bolded your ignorant grammatical errors. And I won't even comment on your incomplete sentence structure. A poorly-educated (in public school system?) racist "teaching" at home . . . your child is no doubt not being provided a properly balanced curriculum, but is also picking up on your racism, which you likely make no effort to hide around him/her. OMG.. Did you proof read ur comment? The guy that killed them babys was a white person. his mother was a white teacher trying to do sumthing for all the different races in her class. i bet they lived in a all white community as well. Quoting: native beauty Ignorance. Racism. Two VERY good reasons for someone to not homeschool. Advanced conditioning and brainwashing. Two VERY good reasons not to dump your kids off in a government run public school. What the fuck is wrong with people?? :) :ohyeah::ohyeah: Native gurl |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1444471 United States 06/19/2013 01:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | About 95% of the time that is absolutely NOT true. There are social rejects in any situation. Going to public school does not make you a social rock star. You either are or you aren't. The goal of school should be to learn, not just socialize. My homeschooled kids are extremely socialized with ALL age groups. They attend outside activities, and have friends that are both homeschooled and public schooled. They all hang out together in our community, My children also have the option to participate in public school choir and sports if they so choose. I really get disgusted by the assumption that homeschooled kids are socially awkward. The only cases I know that to be true are when the parents themselves are, and that is true of both public and home schooled kids. The other benefit of homeschooling that seems to not be as important to the nay sayers is the fact that my children can learn at the pace that suits them, whether that be advanced or at a slower pace in order to master a concept. They don't get pigeon holed into a standardized test. They have the time and support they need to truly master a subject. In our classroom, nothing is "common." There isn't some government standard that they are backed up against. The Great Books are not racist in my house. We study all religions, scientific theories, and experiment with all mathematical approaches. My children learn how to learn for a lifetime...not how to pass a test. But to each their own. It's not possible for all families to homeschool. But if you can, I encourage you to take responsibility for your child's education. You will learn right along with them. It's a great experience. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 65955801 India 12/11/2014 04:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Although I agree as to your reasoning, is anybody thinking of long term implications? If you think about it, we're going to have a generation who will be so socially fucked up that that alone might breed killing machines. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29150242 We are losing our social skills ever since electronic communications crept into our lives. We're teaching children not even to touch another (germs). There's hardly anymore eye contact because they're too busy fussin' with their iPhones while walking, jogging, shopping, sunbathing, driving or waiting for a bus. So what will happen if we restrict this generation from interacting with one another during their formative years by keeping them home? We're going to have a generation of human robots. I don't profess to know the answer but I can see the future ramifications and the future is looking more and more frightening with each passing day though. This is the point cited by most people who do not know about homeschooling. The kind of so called socialization in public schools is negative and geared toward peer pressure. Socialization is more in homeschooling than public schooling. Keep in mind the following points when it comes to the education of children. •in the ancient world, education of children was not considered important, but apprenticeship was. •children should not be monitored continuously, by anybody. •they should not be put into a monitored system that closely resembles a prison. This stunts their spiritual growth. •children should spend more time with adults, than with each other. •if being home-schooled, children should not be exposed to more than a couple of dozen co-students. This builds up friendship, relationships, and team spirits , more than the fakery children are being exposed to nowadays. •being exposed to 500 other students creates detachment of the child from society. Anonymous Coward User ID: 28965432 United States 12/11/2014 04:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | He was only homeschooled as a teenager I believe hearing, after he was having problems in traditional school. I remember hearing former classmates saying he carried a briefcase to class, so he was in public school at least for some time. However, one of those good homeschooling friends has kids that are 12 and 10. They are TERRIFIED to be away from home and their mom. They have homeschooling get-togethers or whatever you want to call them once a week with other kids and parents, and those go fine because Mommy is there. But these kids will NOT be left alone anywhere without Mom. At the age of 12. Really? I think by that time, kid should be getting used to spreading their wings a bit. They shouldn't be afraid of going to a birthday party without Mom. So seeing that, I am afraid I would be stifling my VERY sociable little girl by homeschooling. Quoting: Gratia Plena That sounds like a family dynamic problem that is perhaps the reason they chose homeschooling, and probably exacerbated by homeschooling, not an inherent problem with homeschooling. (The people who are saying they would never let their kid out of their sight ever in the world today are likely to have this problem.) I don't personally know any homeschooling families with kids that clingy. Mine sure aren't. The good thing about homeschooling is that you have 100% total control over how you do things. Don't want your kid to be like that? Have her do activities where you aren't present. Have babysitters occasionally. Let her go over to friend's houses to play. But I agree that it's a big decision that requires a real commitment of time and energy. Thanks for your response. It helps to hear all of that. It is something on which I am truly studying my heart, and I appreciate your views and experiences. You make a very good points on tips to teach them to be independent. Her kids regularly score 2 grade levels above where they need to be, and she is not some exceptionally gifted genius who was made for homeschooling. So I know I could do it. I just have that fear of the clinginess. Glad to hear that is the exception. lanza's a fabricated psyop with the false flag that sacrificed innocent children at a PUBLIC SCHOOL. homeschooler here. have seen and know a lot of homeschooled kids. healthy group. but everyone needs different things. and I would never take away another parent's free will to do it another way. but from one parent who homeschooled: best thing I ever did. |
