The quinolone antibiotics are notorious for shooters going postal hallucinating if dehydrated taking Cipro, the very antibiotic they were recommending for anthrax prevention during the anthrax scare rather than doxycycline which has no psychosis side effect and is $10 as opposed to the $150 for Cipro.

Agreed, but they will never admit the drugs are bad until the patent runs out, then they will come up with another poison and marketing scheme.

Antidepressants are on the market despite lack of evidence showing effectiveness. They have been getting steadily less effective since the 50's and no less addictive.

What needs to happen is that the drugs that actually work, but for which there is no massive profit margin, need to be legalized and given proper study.

Hello, that was the first thing I thought of "this guy was either coming off of an anti-depressant or possibly was on adderall for ADHD." Otherwise, why flip out like that? I think they should both be banned. Commercials for any drugs on TV should also be banned just like they banned TV adds for alcohol and cigarets . This guy was probably on meds or coming off of them.

In Oregon, the shooter had friends and everything and they said it was completely out of character and he went numb...and I want to know what pharmaceuticals he was on or stopped taking (withdrawal). Same with the Colorado guy and this guy. Funny how media reports the illegal street drugs people were taking like RIGHT AWAY, but they disappear the stories before we ever here the psycho-pharmaceutical drugs that these people were on. I think we have a right to know ASAP, because if it is contributing those companies share complicity in these horrible crimes. I think there needs to be major congressional hearings on the matter. I hope no one in power is actually contemplating doing away with our 2nd amendment just to protect the pharmaceutical companies' interests, you know?

i remember when i tried to quit smoking and started taking Chantix... i stopped after about a week or so; i woke up pissed off at the world every morning, and i could tell it was the meds. I felt like i could have easily ripped someone's head off if they looked at me the wrong way. I threw the Px away. Chantix is an SSRI uptake inhibitor closely related to the rest of that drug family.

i dont take any pharma other than the odd acetaminophen.

thats it. the rest can fuck with your brain chemistry.

I would seriously be willing to bet not only was he on drugs which are not recommended for young adults but that come with a warning label saying this could happen if they take them... Doctors still push everyone who needs to grow up and deal with shit to take these harmful ?medicines? I mean before you put someone on this crap find out why this many people in the US are so damn depressed... Lets not even talk about what happens when you have been on them long term and you can not get them for whatever reason... and adderall is not an evil drug that should be grouped with the others you mentioned... Adderall is short term drug, does not alter your long term mental capacity and it might make you mean but does not make you evil enough to do this. I dont have a tv and dont watch the propoganda any more but I am wondering is anyone out there asking what this kids life was like with these parents he shot, did they deserve it, I mean clearly the little kids didnt but what had the parents done to this young man to make him hate them enough to do this... That stuff is evil. Many people have committed suicide because of that drug. An old friend of mine had a horrible experience with it.

I agree. Drugs magnify problems. If you are depressed when you start taking anti-depressents, you'll end up trying to commit suicide. It happened to a person I know. It might even cause some to shoot others and then themselves.

I hope you're not talking about psilocybin mushrooms, LSD, peyote, ayahuasca, ibogaine or DMT, those are pretty enlightening mind altering substances.
