What the hell is going on with the MOON?!!!! | |
| Weasel_Turbine User ID: 14143765 12/14/2012 08:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am sorry if I am ignorant but tonight's moon was showing in the sky in the same place the sun set! How can that be?!!! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17888588 Usually, when the sun sets the moon rises right over my neighbor's house just where the sun came up in the morning. Tonight right after the sun set in the west, the moon showed up in the Western part of the sky. I know it is a new moon but am I missing something? I thought it was really weird.... The Moon was up all day but due to its small crescent phase it was not really bright enough to see unless you knew exactly where to look. When the sun set the moon was close to setting already as it should be for its phase. It does the same thing every month in this phase. The Moon rises and sets about 50 minutes later each day as it progressed through its phases. Always has.
