Have the Stupid Democrats already forgotten what happened in 96 shortly after they passed the Assault Weapons Ban?

I see pretty much the same scenario unfolding.

They are drunk with power after winning a 2nd term in the Whitehouse. Figuring, "Let's ban all those scary looking guns now!"

They did so, then got summarily booted out of office for it in the next round of elections.

With gun sales at historic highs right now, do they think they can somehow avoid a repeat of history?
