I love a good conspiracy theory as much as the next guy but some of these theories are way out there. A few are even so scary it makes you wonder what kind of brain could think them up.

The kid was not a retard. He was not stupid in the least bit. It's likely his iq was higher than anyone on these boards. He had Aspergers Syndrome and a simple google search will tell you exactly what that is. Many people with Aspergers are much smarter than the average human.

For those of you saying that people don't just snap one day put yourself in this kids shoes. He grew up knowing that he wasn't like other kids. He probably had none or very few frIends and he was smart enough to realize that there was clearly something socially wrong with him that would forever inhibit him from leading a normal social life, having a girlfriend/ wife etc. His parents also divorced a few years ago and his brother moved to a different state and supposedly had not spoken to him in 2 years. True definition of a loner. This had likely been brewing for quite some time.

The news is saying that he had a possible argument the day before with 4 teachers at the school. No, they aren't all dead. One was not at school on Friday and is alive. Maybe some light can be shed on that angle soon, but like others have said, it's been a day. Not everything is going to come out that quickly.

For those wondering how he knew how to shoot guns and saying the guy was a skilled shooter, again look at the actual evidence. Every single victim had multiple gunshot wounds. It's not like he was pegging them off from long distance. He was at close range and shooting them until he was satisfied they were dead. Two kids actually dies on the way to the hospital. Multiple people who knew the family have gave interviews and stated that the mother often took target practice with bit sons Ryan and Adam. So clearly he's familiar with shooting a gun and loading ammo.


The kid led a shitty life and sometime this week he decided for whatever reason that this was what he was going to do. What he did yesterday was
disgusting, but these conspiracy theories are way out there on this one..

I'd like to point out that the supposed gunner Adam Lanza had a missing girlfriend. Had the police located her yet? If he indeed had a girlfriend, it should strengthen some of the theories here that Adam may not be the shooter.

A day before the shooting, some guy in China brutalized 22 children with a kitchen knife. So I don't think gun control is the answer here. Be glad you have guns because in china, we don't have guns and that is how the government abuse civil rights and take away our rights slowly.

I haven't read any media stories about it but from reading ppls threads it has taken over from the royal nurse story very quick and shut it up. how did he travel there and if he did im sure something would of distracted him, he would not know were he was going to start with unless someone was with him.

As for the mask though, it could be purely pyscological reasons. Killing that many children is one horrendous act that got to impact a person deeply. A mask might serve as a shield to the psyche, as we know how intimately a Preston's face relates to the way he identify himself. Apparently, he tried to buy rifle two days ago before the shooting took place, but he didn't get it because he didn't want to go through background check and the waiting process.

A person could snap. Lets assume he has a certain disability or disorder, there could be a lot of blame going on in the family and perhaps guilts and buried hurts, worsened by the divorce no less. Imagine how vulnerable a person at teenage would feel and react to those burdens.

Years of hurt and living under stress of guilt and blame can really damage a person's view of the world around him. I would go on to assume he might still be trapped in a mentally frightened and "younger" state if he was indeed picked upon as victim of early years and continued to suffer for the years after. It could be evident by his fragil frame as signs of refusing or fearful of grown up. If we can learn more about his social life, there could possibly signs of withdrawal from social contacts and difficulty in coping with responsibilities. If that proves to be the case, it MIGHT explain his particular target choice as children, whom he could still consider to be his peers.

All of this is speculation. I know families are undergoing unspeakable trauma now, so again my hearts go out to them. But as bystanders, we are speculating a motive which is what I really want to know. The reason behind this madness and perhaps shedding some sensible lights into us as humanity.

Actually, thinking along these lines, that just might be the reason his mother decided to expose her sons to guns and shooting as a way of manning up. Wasn't the kid a shy type? Was he fearful of others?

Nice people that meant well can make horribly wrong choices because they lack the appreciation for complexity and contradictions. I think understanding this kid, IF he was indeed the gunner, would require just that.

Lanza was in fact probably borderline GENIUS, far from being retarded. He was on the honor roll when he attended H.S. And we don't know exactly what he was afflicted with at all. Could have been Aspergers, many of whom are extremely intelligent as are many Autistic people. Many are also very creative and artistic. He could also have had some other affliction, mental illness and/or personality disorder. He could have been a sociopath/psychopath, in which case it's possible he committed the crime for no particular reason at all other than for his amusement, maybe to gain notoriety.

Your statement that no crimes are committed without a reason is completely false. There are simply crazy and even just evil people in the world.
