This is what I've been saying.......not only do school shootings drop, children learn to be around a weapon and respect is, as it is part of the teachers class.

First, let me say that I fully support the second amendment. It's not the guns fault. It's the people. I DO feel the pharmaceutical companies are much more to blame for this kind of shit.

As for teachers in Israel, it does help that it's mandatory for all Israeli citizens to serve in the military.

Regarding here in the States, how comfortable would you feel requiring teachers to be armed if he/she has no experience with guns, or who may not even be comfortable with them? I understand that they would be formally trained and all that. But are you certain they would use a gun properly in a heavy duty situation like Sandy Hook? I know some will say any chance is better than no chance, and I guess technically that's true. But I just don't know if the other risks involved is worth that chance.

Some other options might be:

- There are plenty of unemployed vets who I would love to see hired to make his/her presence known at schools. Either uniformed or in civies.

- Keep a police officer(s) stationed at all schools. Perhaps even plain clothes along with signs that read "one or more armed plain clothes officers on site" which would perhaps be a good deterrent. Something like that.

Israel could teach the US quite a bit about airport security and the proper application of profiling.

And how to collect a multi-billion dollar welfare check and steal land.

No, moron - let's keep it the way it is so that the only time they see them is when they watch their sick, twisted ultra-violent CARTOONS where people get shot point blank in the face and just turn around and walk away with a messed-up hair-do.

It doesn't help anything to recoil and shrink away from guns and treat them like they are something evil. A chainsaw can be a deadly dangerous weapon - do you shrink away in horror when you see one at a hardware store?
