I just wanted to say that I recently lost my kitty cat too. I know how bad it hurts. All I want for Christmas is for him to be with me again. But I have comfort in knowing he is doing well and I will see him again. I will be thinking about you on Christmas!

By the way I too am senior and live alone, believe me, it is a lot better, than living with someone who don't appreciate and/or take advantage of you.

Love and blessings sent your way. Maybe you could get to know your neighbors? Bake some cookies and deliver them to your neighbors, introduce yourself and spread a little Christmas cheer. You might begin to make some meaningful connections. Big hugs sent your way op, as I too have known the sting of loneliness.

Thank you so much! I am soooooooo sorry for your lose! I know how bad it hurts. It is an ache that never seems to go away. I so hope I get to see my little guy again some day too!

There are only three other apartments here in this building and those people are never home. One girl just uses as a "blind" so her parents don't know she is living with her boyfriend. Another one is the landlord's son who is seldom home because he (more or less) lives with his girlfriend at her place. The other one works two jobs and is never home except to sleep.

Yes you are right. Living along is much better than living with someone who would abuse or take advantage of you. I know there are a lot of women in worse situations than I am in and am grateful for what I have. It is just at this time of the year it would be nice to have friends and to get Christmas cards.

Some people are all stressed over having to associate with family members they do not get along with. Even buy gifts for them.

Please know you are loved & cared for! Even if they are too exhausted to visit more often. Many pure prayers from GLP & me!!!

OP, sending you abundant love and joy for this holiday season, and prayers, too. Keeping your husband, and your kitty, Speedbump, in my prayers, as well. My dad has macular degeneration (wet type), too. I will keep you in my thoughts this Christmas. Yup, so long as I'm working or trying to come up with a menu for next week...which I just finished but it's raining so I really don't want to go grocery shopping now...but I need to get started on the tomato basil soup...sigh, yeah we're here for you :)

There is nothing selfish in requestingprayer in your behalf. I am sure your prayers are bing answered and will be.

Try to find a church or shelter nearby and offer to volunteer to the extent you can to support of help over the holiday season and I believe you might find others with whom you can share or even develop some rapport with who share similar circumstances.

If those are not feasible go to the nearest hospital and offer to read to a patient or visit floors who have people no one comes to see.

Some of our loneliness is self imposed. Share your own need by filling someone else's.
