All presidents, in theory, support this - regardless of their words. It is clearly politically expedient to support an action such as this. There is no downside. If nothing is done via the congressional route, the Chief Executive can feign indignation while receiving support for the party from that side of the political spectrum. If something is done and a law is transferred to the President for signature, it can be argued that signing it was the "will of the people". Essentially, as long as nothing is pushed (words only), Mr. Obama cannot lose. He is wise. |

What matters is that, in a moment of weakness or horror, the political element will have the power to push through a major overhaul of all firearms laws. Eventually, the second amendment itself will be removed, but not after an overwhelming horror which causes a call to action - then the action is provided. It must be understood that this is a losing situation for the "pro-gun". It will only take one moment of congressional weakness after a horrific situation to solidify the removal of the second amendment (or laws which, are a de facto removal of it). ONCE. This will happen and nothing can stop it. |

They will continue to ramp-up these situations until it becomes "necessary" to take action. They are NO longer worrying about trying to shield their intentions, November 6th proved that they can fool enough of the population to get what they want...
