Unusually high tides
Is anyone else experiencing unusually high tides?

I went running this morning. Yesterday I noticed the water in the Brook near my house was unusually high. Today I went down to the water. The beach is almost submerged in water. I haven't noticed the tide this high since Hurricane Sandy. The time before that was during the flood of 2010. I'm not seeing anything being reported on the East coast. I'm seeing a few reports about unusually high tides on the West coast.

Re: Unusually high tides
We always have extra high tides on new moon and full moon..

Don't worry about it unless the wind is blowing off the water. Then it will be even higher....

Weather man on TV warned about it last night...

I believe tonight and last night was a Crescent moon. The next full moon isn't until the 28th.

Re: Unusually high tides
Found this, seems its due to global warming. Ever hurd of King Tides, lmao.

Washington’s naturally-occurring king tides started Wednesday Dec. 12th, and will continue through mid January. The state Ecology Department is inviting the public to share their photos of these higher-than-usual winter tides. These tidal events are often referred to as king tides. Some environmentalists say king tides offer a potential glimpse of how rising sea levels from global climate change could affect Washington’s marine shoreline areas by:

Intensifying coastal flooding, especially during high tides and major storm surges.
Shifting marine beaches inland.
Increasing coastal bluff erosion.
Endangering houses and other structures built near the shore such as roads, seawalls and utilities.
