Preparing for war, is where was is won.

If you can delay the start of open warfare, while un-noticeably conditioning the foe-nation to be a better victim, a softer target, it is in fact, more effective than warfare itself.

Demoralized soldier, will hold a gun in his hand, and not even fire it. You can go up to him and shoot him in the head, and he won't resist. Of course, that is a tactic for post-invasion strategy.

Pre-invasion, the skilled tactician seeks to put the foe-nation to sleep, to have them accept their inevitable defeat. To have them hand over their rifle without a struggle.

The actual invasion portion of warfare, is quite crude, and mostly outmoded. The preferred breakdown in the modern age is more like:

60% - Pre-invasion softening of foe-nation. PSY WAR. dis-arm, dis-armor, soften their brains, program them to expect war which ends in their defeat, destroy food supply, insert spetznaz agents and have them adapt to normal life, increasing their cover.

20% - Invasion. ACTUAL WAR. Open combat, revealing the truth, properly done few will fight, many will join our side and kill their own countrymen. NOTE: Be sure to pair each agent so that if our agents defect in country and join the foe-nation, their twin agent is programmed to execute them. This pahse is the most dangerous as agents will defect to the foe-nation since they have been living with the people for perhaps many years and my have gotten soft. Termination of our own agents is primary goal here as these can destroy the invading forces. See character "Yuri" from the movie "First Blood Part II".

30% - Post-invasion. PSY WAR. Condition foe-nation to accept that they are doomed, destroy partisans through full spectrum psy war, which is now fully enabled as hiding is no longer a concern. Full exploitation of those who collaborate. Full prosecution of those who do not. Destroy hope, torture and kill in public, along with courtroom spectacle and public forums that accomplish psy war goals.
