Let's ban drugs.. then no one will get addicted... Oh wait.. Ok, let's ban prostitution.... No... wait... Let's ban murder... that has to work... hmm... People who think bans will accomplish anything are delusional at best. |

If a nut wants to kill people, they're going to, regardless whether their weapon of choice is a gun, a knife, arson, etc.. I lived with a psych nurse for a couple of years. He worked at a state mental institution in MA. He came home one night, really upset that they had released a woman that day that he said was literally bat shit crazy. It was the week before Christmas. The day she was released back into the community, she went home to her apartment, set it on fire killing 2 people. We let these people out. It's high time to put them back. "There are nights when the wolves are silent and only the moon howls." ~ George Carlin |

But is that really the solution? There are a LOT of things that kill more people in the U.S. than guns. Take a look: Quoting: telling it straight Homicides due to guns is 3.7 people per 100,000 people in U.S. (That's about 11,000 people.) Banning full/semi auto weapons at point of sale to the public seems reasonable to me. Knives are okay in China. Your point? |

Note that in the China attack, no one died. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22323395 That was a miracle that no one died. People sure could have. I think we need to stop blaming the guns and start dealing with the people pulling those triggers. hmmmm, do me a favour will ya? SE User ID: 1673157 Canada 12/16/2012 04:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You can't attack every nation that steps out of line and not be a little fearful as a people! That being said... One could argue that throughout history many slaves experienced a better quality of life as a slave than they might have had they not been a slave. You certainly wouldn't say we should bring back slavery would You?? My point is that mankind does not even really "need" to be free to live a long, healthy, fulfilling life. But would you really want it any other way?! You don't really 'need' an appendix or 2 kidneys to live... Should there be a law that says if yo have 2 you must give one up to one who needs it?? or more appropriately, you do not need meat, desserts, tea, coffee, alcohol, sugary beverages... so on and so forth... But does that mean that every human should just give up what he or she doesn't absolutely "need"?? If so I vote for this one to be 1st ... CLOTHES are not "needed"... give 'em up and let's all get naked! Last Edited by SE on 12/16/2012 04:46 AM |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1319395 Ireland 12/16/2012 05:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You MUST have stricter gun control. You won't have an outright banning, no country has that, but it is completely WRONG to be able to walk into a store and buy a gun. You can only get guns here legally through authorised sources and from a narrow range. Usually hunting rifles and the like. Although we have a problem with illegal gun crime amongst the crime gangs in Dublin, we have never had any incidents like US ones and similar in UK. Dunblane brought far stricter laws into effect and there have been very few multiple shooting incidents since then. Those of you who feel their rights are being violated, better get real. I see the pictures of those little kids and wonder why they had to die so you can protect your second amendment. This gun love is unique to the US and makes me sick. |
