the UK and many other countries have gun control and our death rates are extremely low. but then again, neither do we feel the need to arm ourselves, even in the worst neighbourhoods. why? because gun crime is almost always inter-gang related

China school knife attack wounds 23:

A man wielding a knife attacked students Friday at a school in central China, leaving 22 children and one adult injured, according to state-run media reports.

If somebody really wants to kill another, they will figure a way to do it. However, guns were made for one purpose and that is to kill. Ladders, knives, cars, and beds were made for other purposes but people do lose their lives to accidental injury or sometimes (in the case of knives) purposeful injury. It's really two different things. There is absolutely no reason to ply our sick public with any handguns or even automatic and semi-automatic weapons in general.
