If you notice the police officers had guns to stop the criminal if guns were banned there would be no protection because you cant take away all the guns nor can you stop criminals from obtaining them thru underground markets so my suggestion would be to allow the principle and trained teachers who have passed a mental examination to carry a weapon or have a security officer along with metal detectors inside all public places and people with signs of mental illnesses need to be monitored and not allowed to be near any weapons but the fact is like they said on the news this monster who killed the Connecticut children and teachers could have broken in and used a homemade bomb or other means to kill but if there would have been someone there with a gun they could have disabled him and stopped this massacre that is a fact
