The Westboro Baptist "Church" are coming...what can we do?

Nothing doing anything would be violtaing there civil rights.

That's what I figured. Its a shame that they get such a kick out of devastating people even more with their sick bullshit.

I'm appalled that in all this time nobody has put a shovel into the heads of one of these people.

Why s that? Someone who loses a child is probably not in a position to care about fines and jail time. Why hasn't anyone beaten these people to a pulp yet?

A nearby family lost seven or eight children all at the same time in a house fire. WBC planned to come to that too, but local biker groups provided 'security' for the route too and from the funeral, and made it public that they would do so, and the local and state police stood down or 'took the day off'. WBC never showed up.

Honestly, this is a VERY close community and it has two main classes: upper middle class, and hicks. If they come here, I can't imagine something NOT going down.

They're ridiculous. I can't even believe this is actually happening. Traffic jams, news trucks, photographers and reporters and cameras everywhere, signs hanging, and the feeling of loss. I am turning my TV up to drown out the steady hum of helicopters outside.

I don't mean for this to turn into a religious debate, just reaching out I guess. I'm still feeling a lot of shock.

Some group needs to come together and keep them away, or someday some distraught relative will take them all out.

First off make sure they are really coming as they threaten to be lots of places and don't show up . The way to do that is to get in touch with your local law enforcement as the WBC always get permits and request police protection . Get on FB and ask for people to join you in forming a Human Wall to protect the families . Just make certain that people know that they can't interact with the WBC or acknowlege them in any way . Also most of the adult members of the WBC are LAWYERS who love to sue .

If this is true OP, find out what they they are planning on picketing and call the local CMA chapter in your area. Christian Motorcycle Association.

Explain the situation to them and ask for their assistance.
