I'm not sure about the details, although there is a documentary on Youtube called "Day 51: The true story of Waco" that goes through the timeline.

The main accusation is that Koresh was sexually abusing small girls. As far as I know, none of the girls that survived have corroborated this.

And anyway, if sexual abuse is reason enough to take down a church with the military, why aren't there Bradley fighting vehicles taking down Catholic churches?

The sheriff tried to get ATF to let him serve the warrant to Koresh since he knew Koresh personally and could deescalate the situation. The ATF wouldn't allow it.

As an interesting aside, FBI Agent Lon Horiuchi, who was the guy that shot Randy Weaver's wife and infant at Ruby Ridge, also shot some of the Branch Davidians.
