As for the media not getting the weaponry right, that would be nothing new either. They don't bother fact-checking.

Mostly only people who use/work with guns can identify guns. The media is lazy, they could have called it a SuperSoaker 5000 or an Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator for all they care.

There are huge holes in this weird story that need to be looked at but the media sloppily reporting an incident does not on its own a cover up make.

The gun in the trunk is more than likely a tatical shotgun based on the the brief shot of the handle grip and butt of the gun at the 13 second mark of the video.

According to AP, three other guns have also been recovered, but it was not clear where they were found. They were a Henry repeating rifle, an Enfield rifle and a shotgun.

Just heard Geraldo the ass Rivera on Fox say he knows gun collectors and none have a Glock or Sig or Bushmaster. Those are all evil and meant merely to be used for seeking confrontation. What an idiot!

They have just been salivating to outlaw the Saigas for a while now...not the first story on GLP about this, or in the news...I think the cops are just mad b/c they can't convert them for cheap and have to pay ppl to convert them and charge $1400+ for them...it's a $600 shotgun from russia, and honestly, you have to either pay the premium or do a lot of trial and error on them to do it correctly.

You're an idiot and obviously don't know anything about guns. The person unloading the rifle did so by pulling back on the bolt towards the rear of the gun. A shotgun would be unloaded by reaching to the front and racking the pump handle.

This is a rifle, not a shotgun.

according to police audio the first responders found multiple weapons including a rifle and a SHOTGUN.

so this means at least 5 weapons.

ar-15's are magazine fed semi-automatic rifles. assault rifles are capable of firing more than one round per squeeze of the trigger - i.e. 3 round burst or full auto as in some cases which the ar-15 in all it variations could not with out serious mods to the receiver and fire contol components.

the gun control crowd always mistakes a weapon with plastic furniture as an assault weapon. a bolt action rifle fires one round per activation of the trigger. the only difference is that the bolt is manipulated manually in a bolt action rifle while the ar-15, mini-14, etc. uses spent gases to cycle the bolt/bolt carrier and load a bullet in the chamber.

the ar-15 is not an assault weapon, because if it is then the ruger mini-14/30 and 10/22 should also be categorised as such. yet, the BATF says the ruger is not. the BATF makes this vague definiton based on the amount of plastic found in the weapon system.
