Montana's by Yellowstone. Not a stable area either...
 Quoting: Captain Spaulding 1185504

That is a good point but on the other hand Montana is pretty huge. Much of it is hundreds of miles from Yellowstone, and it is also the place where LOTS of the elites have established bug out locations; they may possibly know more than we do, just sayin.

In any event, it has more survivability points than Yuma. Also, people tend to want to go "home" when times are precarious.

Two days ago he and one of his buddy's are in having breakfast in Yuma. They are in a booth and the guys sitting right behind them...

Oh joy, a doom revelation post from an uncle/cousin/brother/friend/inside intel/etc.
That must mean it is legit since we've never seen this type of post turn out to be a ridiculous and phony troll by a 15 year old before...
Sorry, I meant that's all we've seen from these types of posts.

Hey OP. I am from the USGS . You're from the USGS...We're all from the USGS ! See how easy that is?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30024782

Think what you want.
<snip absurd defense of said ridiculous story>

This wasn't a bunch of guys sitting around farting in a chili joint. It was in an upscale restaurant.
<snip more idiocy supposedly related by the brother-in-law>
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19738203

Why do I get the feeling that the OP is a 16 year old Canadian troll who's never been to any restaurant let alone an upscale restaurant?

Tell me OP, since when do "upscale" restaurants serve breakfast?
In booths?
They aren't exactly Tim Horton's, which is apparently as upscale as you've ever experienced.

Yeah, every time I take someone important to an upscale restaurant I always request the "booth" and ask for the breakfast menu.
That's after I phone the owner and insist they open early just for me and build a booth so I may impress my guest.
<snicker>

You're family must think McDonalds is haute cuisine at a 5 star restaurant.

Grow up.

I swear you must go to school to do what you do. You clearly have not been to all the upscale restaurants!

OP, this really is a good thread. I have been able to stay with it and get some interesting and truthful information. Moving through the above muck hasn't been too bad.

Oh look, another retard who has never gone to a proper restaurant.

Let me put it this way -
A restaurant of any kind does not serve breakfast... diners serve breakfast. If you find a "restaurant" that serves breakfast its name is most likely Denny's. I'm sure that is what you consider an upscale dining experience.
"Upscale" restaurants may not even have a lunch menu. The most exclusive do not. They serve Tues - Sat evenings only.

Upon entering a restaurant, if you see booths against the wall you can be sure you are not in an "upscale" restaurant... you are in a cafe or bistro or burger joint.
"Marty's Beer and Burgers featuring the burger that was voted the best in Hogwaller" isn't a restaurant no matter what they call themselves.

But you go right ahead and delude yourself and puff your chest out as you escort your date into the magical experience of that famous 5 star, "upscale" restaurant - Applebee's.

Yeah, not mistaking Denny's for a proper restaurant makes me a shill.
When you grow up you'll find that what I've said is true. It isn't even controversial amongst adults since it is merely a fact.

Here's a listing of the "upscale" restaurants in Yuma:
[link to www.urbanspoon.com]

Find me one that serves breakfast, or that has booths.
You may find a couple that have booths but places with names like "Bar & Grill" are iffy on whether they are "upscale" restaurants.
Burger joints are burger joints no matter what they charge for their fare.

If you can get served in jeans and a plaid shirt it isn't an upscale restaurant. Business attire at minimum.

I go to plain jane restaurants and burger joints more than upscale. I enjoy the food from both.

I just don't delude myself that when I'm at The Olive Garden (or the besty burger joint in town for that matter) I'm enjoying fine dining - I'm having an enjoyable good meal with friends. It isn't haute cuisine.

When you move out of mom's basement you'll understand what I'm talking about.

Ah... the beauty of GLP: We started out talking about earthquakes and now we're talking about where somone's uncle eats.

I've learned a lot about fine dining, but not so much about doom, lol.

I'll take a diner-full-o-doom over "fine dining" any day. The company's better for one thing.

I always take upscale to mean that they charge much more for food than seems rational.

The "high criticism" of this thread vis-a-vis the trivia surrounding the story rather than the main point contributes nothing to the conversation.

...and it's boring. Just like I imagine dinner would be at some fine restaurant full of materialistic rich folk.

Now, back to the doom.

wow.

eavesdropping on magmatards

count me in

On a serious note, the earthquakes the OP is referring to consisted of a series of FIVE earthquakes off the California coast that were each magnitude 6.0 or above.

We should ALL be worried.

We have had other indications (not just overheard conversations) that magma is on the move.

For instance, harmonic resonance signatures on some seismic events in Yellowstone.

What was that George Strait (?) song about oceanfront property in Arizona? Maybe that song won't sound so "out there" not too long from now!

Also, wasn't there something in another thread about the USGS making a special point about going into some detail about the recent California 6.4 quake?

Also, OP, are the the same Canadian AC that was talking about your dad being a retired engineer or something and telling you that the Louisiana sinkhole situation is REALLY concerning? If so, any more news on that?

The USGS guy also Winters in Yuma and he did say that he himself and wife are heading home to Montana. They were leaving the area on Monday. Getting away from the coast and that area.

My Brother in Law has decided to do the same thing. He's also heading back home for Alberta Monday also. He phoned my sister and said if that guy doesn't feel safe and is leaving so is he. Remember that he does not believe in this shit so he must of gotten his cage just a little rattled.

Montana, Alberta, and Saskatchewan are the promised lands...clean air, clean water, tons of natural resources, good soil, not on a fault line, the climate's a little on the cool side, amazing 18+hr of sunlight in the summer, land is a little expensive, not too many large cities in Montana & Sask.,and people willing to help each other. Oh the elevation is also good. I live in rural N.Alberta, and I am not even a little concerned when the SHTF - this place is paradise compared to the rest of N.America....now that I think about it there are a lot of Americans moving up here...maybe they realize how great it is up here too.
 Quoting: Salvadorios

That way we can keep our vast spaces, balanced State budget, people looking out for each other, millions of acres of public lands, wildlife...(OOPS! I just gave away more of the secret! Damn!)

BTW, according to a lengthy article in National Geographic a couple years ago that studied the history of eruptions, only the south and east areas of the state are in harm's way IF Yellowstone ever erupted (prevailing winds carrying fallout.) That leaves 2/3s of the state safe for habitation.

Nailed what. I just shouldn't have taken anything personally. Believe what you want. Free will and free choice. That fact remains the same. My Brother Inlaw left this morning to head home and so did Mr USGS. End of story.

What Mr Usgs said to him that Morning at Breakfast was enough to convince him to leave. He just did. Home by late Thursday night.

If you find it hard to believe that 20 some odd years ago I took enginneering to bad for you. I am now quite happy retired up on my mountain playing rancher away from it all living the life I always wanted too.

The part about the restaurant was just to convey that neither MR USGS or my Brother Inlaw were some redneck slobs sitting drinking beer and telling tall tales.

Take it for what you want. The message wasn't for people like you obviously. It was for those with their eyes and ears open that pay attention to things.

The fact remains that California just had a series of Earthquakes that were found to be quite disturbing to both the USGS and MR Retired USGS so much so he went home also. As also reported on CNN NEWS.

I really don't care if you or the other idiot believes me or not. Doesn't change a thing in my life. I'm safe and sound where I am. Just trying to keep others the same way.

Just so most people can understand how California tectonics come into play, I've included this video to show you a few things.

1. Tsunamis pretty much can't hit California from its own earthquakes, all major quakes in California are strike slip.

2. Baja is sliding past California, if you watch this video, pay attention to the los Angeles area for the last known 10,000,000 years of formation.

3. Watch how Baja ca, is formed in the last 10Mya.

4. The buldge forming the San Gabriel's shows were the strain is, all movement is forced to the west at the Santa Barbara fault, as well as the Long Beach area, then to the San Andreas and Garlock Fault.

Complete with spelling/grammar/useage indicating you have the education of a 7 year old.
Random useage of foul language enhances the credibility of the story.
Without any evidence we are supposed to believe your fantasy story and that the relative and expert exist and aren't just your delusion/troll.
Keeping with the playbook, you try to bolster these fantasy character's existence by filling out the story with some embellishing bs details.
The details are ridiculous and merely add to the evidence that you are a 16 year old Canadian troll.

What earthquakes?
I've seen a few posts on this thread about some fantasy of numerous mag 6 EQs off of California...
Can you produce evidence of any substantial California EQs beside the one mag 6.3 on December 14, 2012?
I think even the EQ portion of this story is made-up fantasy from the mind of a disturbed 16 year old from Canada.

Sorry, OP, your story is interesting (and may even be true) but trying to pass yourself off as a 40-something, female, engineering grad doesn't work. Your detractor (the one pointing out the flaws with your spelling, grammar, and the restaurant part of the story) nailed you, buddy.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17203853

Since you can't even spell "enginneering" I think it isn't much of a stretch that you are lying.

The part about the restaurant was just to convey that neither MR USGS or my Brother Inlaw were some redneck slobs sitting drinking beer and telling tall tales.
 Quoting: Crazy Canuck Troll

No kidding.
You've presented the old GLP chestnut of - 'A relative of mine heard from an anonymous expert that doom is on the way.'

The fact remains that California just had a series of Earthquakes that were found to be quite disturbing to both the USGS and MR Retired USGS so much so he went home also. As also reported on CNN NEWS.
 Quoting: Crazy Canuck Troll

You keep referencing the USGS fantasyman who was - "having a conversation about the Earthquakes that just happened of the California Coast."

Now I get it. Its the professional shills going to work on me. This is either Hydra. Menow or the other gang member. The M.O fits perfectly. Trash spelling and other inconsequential mistakes and belittle the person to try and derail the thread. If you can't convince them confuse them.

lol. Now I know I struck a cord. These guys are the gate keepers. They also carry grudges around. I love and have loved for a long time on this site mixing it up with these guys. I find them rude and nasty. Can't blame a girl for having some fun. Is that the best trash you could come up with...? lol too funny.

I think everybody can figure out exactly what your trying to do here. Your actually helping me out. Shills are the only thing on this site that go out of their way and try to hard to make their point. They also inhabit the thread. Can't make a comment and move on. They stick around like bad breath. I think eveybody can figure out whats going on here. Make up their own minds.

Cheers everyone. Except of course the shills. You can go fuck yourselfs.

You did forget to tell them to slit puppy's throat so you don't have to feed him in the 'aftertime' and in fact you can barbeque him as soon as you crawl out from under your mobile home siding.

And even then they'll say we need to give it till _____________. (pick an arbitrary date. I'm betting 12/31/2012. Where does the new date come from? 2012tard desperation.)
Then it will be the standard - "Well, it was never meant that there would be a physical change, it is all about raising our spirichule Trojan™ vibrator level."

You're family must think McDonalds is haute cuisine at a 5 star restaurant.
