In the ancient and medieval and even current world, you can basically map out the areas where alcohol is most popular and the areas where cannabis is most popular.

Most of the Islamic world is on the cannabis side of that map.

i smoked for 20 years, the high is nice, its damage is minimal, etc. But it has one big drawback, it kills your dreams, or at least remembering them, dreams are a door to the unconcious. It also makes you more anxious in general, not only when you smoke. I stopped cold 4 months ago, prolly will never smoke again.

Alcohol > Marijuana, just a personal opinion with all due respect to out loved marijuana brothers and sisters

it is not "intoxicating" ... it is not a poison, it is a healing herb ... but I would not consider it halal unless it is organic ...

I stopped October 28th. VIVID dreams every night since then. At first I thought it was a side effect...but the side effect dreams usually stop after a month at the most. Mine are still going strong. I quickly realized theses are the same vivid dreams that I was having before I started smoking weed.

It also might have to do with the fact I stopped consuming caffeine in Feb. 2019. Anyway, the combination of being weed free and caffeine free has resulted in intense dreams.

I even went lucid a few nights ago. I was not only aware in the dream, but AWARE that I was aware in a dream, if that makes sense. Like, I've always been conscious during dreams, but my mind would always think that this was reality and not a dream. But the feeling of being aware during a dream AND realizing it was not reality but a mere dream? Amazing. I looked at my hands and I noticed the lines on my palms were all messed up. That's what made me realize.

I wasn't able to do anything crazy in the lucid dream though. I don't even remember it ending. But I did jump really high and float. Baby steps.

In the short term, yes. But you can't drink often without it making you fat, bloated, etc. You can drink all the water you want, but you aren't able to achieve the chiseled look that you can when you are free of alcohol or only enjoy it every week or so.

I really wish I could consume alcohol with the same lack of physical side effects that come with smoking the herb. It would be the best of both worlds.
