This would be a clue to you that she is unhappy. Instead of badgering her about the text, tell her how much she means to you. Don't be weird about it either.
Buy her flowers, and show her some positive attention. If she likes the way he makes her feel, chances are he is being more attentive than you are.
If you show yourself to be overly paranoid, overly jealous, or suffocating in your relationship, this could be another reason she is "reaching out". I am a woman, I know these things.

Oh and I wouldn't break up yet. Just see if you can change her mind about you. It don't have to be elaborate, and do a chore she hates to do. Do this more than once. It takes a while to make a woman happy. Don't give up, the rewards are there, if you are patient.
