In the past, we have rarely heard a siren of any kind. In the last 3 weeks, we have heard more sirens around here than we have heard in the last 7 years. It's really strange. This doesn't include the surveillance helicopters. Quoting: Backwoods Philosopher Again, this is a quiet rural area. We have also noticed an increase in crime around here, which was unheard of 7 years ago. Back in May, our home and three other homes was burglarized. Is anyone else noticing the same thing.....a sense of urgency, a sense of evil in the air? Are you getting really strange vibes about your surroundings? We really need to be in prayer and seek God's protection. Psalm 91 is a comfort in times like these. Nazgul |

For a while in the surrounding counties, there were constant Drivers License Checkpoints. The other day, there was a DL Checkpoint at the Courthouse Square. I lived in Florida for six years and never experienced as many DL checkpoints as I have living in the pines. I'm not trying to sound "woo-woo"; as they say, but something just doesn't feel right. Of course, when you hear about tragedies such as the school and mall shootings, it also puts an edge on things. I really appreciate everyone's response. Thank you. |

Even when you see the decorations on the streets or in the stores, it just feels empty. But, the Bible warned us that perilous times were coming. I'm thankful that we can place our trust in God to see us through. |

The sense of the world going to hell and evil winning and going unchallenged makes me want to withdraw from life even more if that were possible. we're in some tough days for sure. It's all so odd. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24537507 my car now sits for 2-3 days at a time. there are so many home break ins around here, I tend to stay home and guard the fort. |

LOL You may not want to hear my "Today....all music sounds the same....boring" commentary! Whether rock, pop, country or alternative, it's mostly studio-generated, hi-tech, base-thumping noise. No musical talent required, just a good studio engineer! Now, here's some good music that can brighten your day! |
