Breivik bomb footage made public | |
<<TIMEWATCHER>> User ID: 25511458  United States12/16/2012 07:02 AM  Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Norwegian broadcaster NRK has broadcast surveillance footage of the moment when Anders Behring Breivik bombed the Government Quarter of Oslo. The bombing in July 2011 killed eight people. Breivik drove to Utoya Island and killed 69 more. This is the first time that CCTV has been shown of the bombing attack — though still photographs from the surveillance images were shown at Breivik's trial this year. The footage shows a van parking outside the office of the Prime Minister before a man wearing security uniform — later identified as Breivik — walks away from the van. Security staff were quick to notice the van, which was parked in a location usually reserved for the Prime Minister's car. One of the security officers from the Government Quarter explained what happened on the day: “My colleague got a call from the reception at the high-rise building [the Prime Minister's office]. At the same time I saw the white van on the monitor in front of me. “It is normally only the Prime Minister and the bodyguards who park there. But every day we get cars parking there without permission so we need to chase them away. “It looks like a guy dressed as a security guard coming out of the car. “I see he has the usual reflex markings on the trousers."
