Jesus raised the dead. Jesus comforted the suffering. Jesus lifted up the poor, the sick, the down trodden. He had compassion and love for people, He showed Mercy. He condemned nobody, He forgave the sinner. He loved all people.......but spoke out against those who commended others, namely the Pharisees.

They were the ones who Jesus couldn't deal with at all. They were the ones He spoke out against, preached against, and rebuked.

Not the sinners, the regular people, the hurting ones, the suffering ones, the humble ones.

Westboro spreads hate publicly, in Jesus name. They are, in my opinion, emotional religious terrorists preying on the weak and hurting people in their time of incredible pain and loss.

The most abhorrent thing imaginable. These people will be held accountable to Him on judgment day.

I don't know about that, but I agree they are loathsome. Still have the right to spew their hatred though, and in my opinion the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are 10X worse than these people...

Yes, unfortunately it is their right according to the law of the land. But, they are breaking God's law to love your neighbor, and they claim to represent Him, which is the worst thing possible.

Looks like they generate a lot of publicity by threatening to Protest at lots of different events, but don't actually end up showing up much of the time.

However, sometimes they do, so you can't let your guard down and assume they won't.

It also looks like they put a lot more events on their Protest schedule than they have they actually have the ability to carry out...so I'm assuming that is part of the strategy they use. They generate the publicity, but only actually attend the ones where they perceive the smallest levels of resistance against them.

They are just attention whores. I don't believe they will dare show up in Sandy Hook. But it is still better to be prepared just in case a few of them actually do go off the deep end that far.

I am personally, not religious but it's very easy to see that the WBC isn't either. No matter how warped your mind is you can't possibly associate gods word with what they are doing. Religion is meant to bring peace and love for those who follow it and for this reason I see value in religion for it's followers but what the WBC do can, in no way, be associated with peace and love. They seem to have the same ethnic cleansing type mentally of nazis or hitler himself.

If I was a father of a murdered 5 year old, I don't know if I could deal with them showing up......in fact I'm pretty sure I would be sending them to hell where they belong.

I hope the community does rally around the families involved when and if they decide to show up. Of course in a peaceful manner though. I think they must pray for someone to abuse or hit them, as they can then use all the lawyers in their family to sue and carry on jetting all around the U.S!

There are a few people named Phelps that were placed on it that have nothing to do with this horrific group.

Many people across the nation are ordering porn to be delivered to the homes, calling them up at all hours of the day and night, etc.

I feel sorry for the innocent Phelps of Topeka who made this list.

Yes, whoever is in charge of organizing the counter protest must stress that they not confront or even speak to the Westboro people IF they happen to show up..just shield only.

They are lawyers and are constantly filing lawsuits.
They would love to incite somebody to lose their temper and try to punch one of them or something...

then the lawsuits would fly. they would sue that person, they would sue the city for not providing adequate security, etc.

The protesters must be peaceful and silent..although music or singing to drown out their voices would be a great way to go.

But if you come across one of these people, be careful. They know how to bait people. You have to outsmart them at their own game.

In the Hegelian Dialectic, they represent the highly exaggerated thesis (Christianity), whereby the anti-thesis (atheism/secularism) looks and rationally are more sane. The synthesis being that the elimination of Christianity is clearly the most rational approach. Make no mistake they are given media face time for this purpose. It's a Dialectic narrative written for the world stage, the goal is quite clear.

They're not at all though, really. Most people don't seem to understand the old testament doesn't apply to Christians, which is where every angtheist digs for arguing points. Only the things Christ said in the New Testament matter. It's not even really all that much and I'm quite certain nothing he said can be interpreted into 'spread hate and be disrespectful when someone is _____'.
