There is a storm rolling in but places all over have had these King Tides and Storm Surges. California. Florida. Hawaii. Pakistan. Veitnam. Cambodia. and on and on the list grows. In live in Southwestern BC and the Snow finally arrived and now won't quit. I have had a foot accumulate in the last 3 days where I am at. Snowed 2 more inches overnight and were supposed to get another 5-6 inches in the next 24-36hrs. The snow will make the Ski Hill behind me happy as there has been no snow up till now only alot of unseasonal rain and warmer weather. They should have opened in early November but couldn't. I guess they will get a few runs going now. ( SilverStar ) |

1/7B User ID: 17743321 Canada 12/16/2012 09:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I used to live in Vic- back in 1994/95 snow, instead of rain fell- brought the region to a halt- lotta damage- structures (roofs) not build for heavy snow loads, etc. I've often thought if all that rain was snow, the place would be literally buried- in 10's of feet. These surges concern me- I still have family there, and even if I didn't- In the middle of the country now- raining, above zero- no snow to speak of... in other words, we're experiencing something closer to west coast winter climate, and for the last 2 years. 'Unprecedented' is the word being thrown about (although that just means in current record keeping). Be safe OP, and thanks. |
