Hasn't Germany been planning to switch to green energy for a while?

Anyway, AFAIK Germany has some of the most expensive electricity in Europe.

I am serious about my statement. Germans have far superior organization. They always have. That's evident from the fact that such small country (compared to Europe) was able to do severe ass kicking in two world wars.

A country full of really smart people who are not organized does not result in a strong country. But if you are able to move them in a common direction - wow - what a force for change. If only we could do that in the USA. Then, we'd be something to contend with.

First off, Germany had a lot of allies in WW2.

Second, if you think that marching together and making trains move on time = power, then you're a idiot. Discipline is overrated. Look at the Soviet Union if you don't believe me.

Nations, like families, do have colective skills and flaws. Germany fought against the world practically alone with a couple of allies. We can discuss til the kingdom come how did they achieve such technology. I guess it's because a combo of two things: smart people (who were finally bought by USA even before paperclip operation) and study of ancient things. Oppenheimer even learned Sanscrit to understand some secrets from HIndu ancient books and nazis travelled all the world and learned some secrets which they applied to evil things.
Former USSR created nothing because their genius were killed or deported to Siberia by their own leaders, Lenin, Trotsky and Stalin. The world doesn't buy Russian tv, stereos, refrigerators nor automobiles either. The great contribution was AK47 and choppers, that's about it. German people do have discipline which is something Australian people would never have. Just characteristics that could be good or bad in particular times of history. If German people are easily led by a radical leader to revolt against mankind, that is certainly bad feature!
When I opened this thread I was thinking of other things..., obviously scientists there KNOW something idiotic people in Brazil fail to understand. Something Japan should learn as well considering they have other 54 nuclear plants in that tiny country.

germany currently has the ability to produce about half of its power needs by solar alone. on top of that, they have been building wind turbines all over the place for almost two decades now. they don't need their nuclear centrals anymore. they have them running to sell the energy to neighbouring nations.


yes. but they remained entirely self-reliant. all other european countries have caved in to the foul play of multinational energy conglomerates.

for example: my country, belgium, has a mix of traditional coal and nuclear centrals. we don't use any of the energy we produce with it. we sell it all, to other countries. we currently import all our energy needs (electricity, gas, ...). how has this happened? energy used to be a state-run business. it has been privatized...

How about they all migrate to North America and bring the jobs with them. It isn't like we don't have room for expansion at the moment. Close the island down and let it rust into the sea.

The simple answer is;

They are light years ahead of any other countries when it comes to Solar Energy and are using it.

A study showed it is highly likely the expected CME's from the sun could shut down all the Nuke power plants electrical system thereby causing Fukushima times 100 so they are playing it safe.

It is being proactive in place of being reactive.

I was in Germany about 5 years ago and it wasn't just solar they were utilizing, it was also wind turbines. They were everywhere and I can only imagine how much more they have now. They also don't allow GMO foods. Smart and very respectful people.

Nuclear weapons were used in the fukushima disaster, germany realized there's a very big chance that its own npp have hidden explosive devices in them and wants to minimize risks.
