Roman Catholic Cathedral, and the Lutheran Cathedral both in Dresden on very early morning Feb 13, 1945, I am sure many felt protected by the Stone and Mortar buildings. Same with the Convent of Nuns at Ground Zero of Hiroshima.

Both Cathedrals in Dresden were bombed to ruin. Only the Roman Catholic Cathedral got rebuilt.

I just got back from leaving flowers under the school sign, on the way back an armored hummer, along with a long motorcade were driving toward the school about 2:30, we thought it was the president.

I saw the same hummer headed toward the school on 1-84 Friday morning before I heard the news, my daughter was in the car with me listening to Christmas carols, when I saw the armored hummer I wondered where it was going, of course I knew immediately when I heard what had happened.

We walked right by the church that had been evacuated and had no idea anything had happened there.

We noticed cars from several states including Arkansas, Texas, and Florida and of course news crews from all around the world.

The local high school students were handing out toys to children who were there paying tribute with their families.
