That books was most likely not made by Nostradamus. He really has nothing to say about that points to anything this time frame. In fact there are a bunch of quatrains that are obviously talking about our future. The farthest he claims to have been able to see was 3979, so I think we're safe until then.

If taken literally, then the earth would have to stop rotating, rather just moving through space. Maybe this region creates a vacuum of sorts. Some legends about et's is that many of them live so long off world because where they are, time does not exist. If the earth stops rotating, then major quakes and tidal wave problems would occur on stopping, and then again when rotation begins. I"ll be in my pajamas, so I hope it's just a matter of suddenly clocks are irrelevant.
