There are numerous verses in Quran where God commands some sins to be expiated by freeing the slaves you own. And since a man is a serial sinner, he ends up with no slaves and thus slavery goes inexistant. Plus, according Quran verses, those owning slaves while being muslims MUST dress/feed/shelter/treat them as well as themselves, otherwise God despise/punish them. If you consider these points and if the slave owners are faithfull muslims, then it's not the same kind of slavery the great freedom land of America encouraged not so long ago for centuries toward black people.
