I just watched this with my son a few days ago and didn't even put it together.

My 8 year old son actually made the connection. "Just like that guardian movie".

Sandy lets his magic out. Sandy must be a demon they are summoning.

That whole trailer is doomy, trying to make it cute for the kids.

Possible that that line is insinuating that this is only the beginning.
