I think it's just time to smell the roses and just care about my loved ones. Instead of keeping our focus on doom, shouldn't we just be focused on Jesus? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15235536 Thank you for your kind thoughts. Oh it's not a joke? It's pretty well written for a joke. Yes, 2012 is just another year that's almost done. |

Also, watch videos by Max Igan, Eckhart Tolle and Alan Watts. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28586117 Spiritual enlightenment is a weapon against those who would rather you stay asleep. I'm quoting myself to clarify what their teaching really was: There is a universal concept within most religions and occult practices: spiritual awakening and physical transformation. We all have the spark of divinity within us. Developing this spark into a full grown spirit takes inner work. Once the inner work is done, then the outer work can begin. The wisdom learned by growing your spirit can then be applied to your physical body. Transforming you into an enlightened being and making you whole and immortal in spirit. That is the whole ball of wax. Each religion has its own way of doing this which has been perverted by rituals and social customs over millenia. Dig deep and you will find this common idea among all world religions and occult practices. |

You only have to pick one enlightened messenger since there's lots who said the same thing. In John 3, Jesus teaches Nicodemus how to be born again in spirit. And wonders why, as a Pharisee, Nicodemus has never heard of this concept. These ideas were around before Jesus. It's only through following what Jesus said in life can we follow in his footsteps into the Kingdom of God. But Jesus' ideas were not new. |

Well, there is plenty of good stuff out there on how to be nice to your fellow human being. I don't disput that. But when it comes to the forgiveness of our own sins and eternal life, I'll put my trust in Jesus. I hope you will too. |

Jesus is one the most influential of the spiritual leaders that I've read about. I especially like what Jesus said in the Gospel of Thomas ( [link to gnosis.org] The saying within are the earliest examples of the secret teachings of Jesus to his closest followers. The sayings follow closely with many sayings found in the four canonical gospels. |
