At any given time there are 20 volcanoes active on average. With this eruption we have 19 active volcanoes which is still below average. Wake me up if another 20 erupt today.

No kidding. Aside from being a 'normal' human being and caring about others, you would be surprised how many glp'ers have a link to Ecuador and how many already live there.

I also assume you don't know that there is a HUGE expat group in Cuenca, Ecuador.

Tungurahua is constantly erupting. I live at the base of it for 2 months and it would generally emit ash clouds once a week. This is healthy, considering that it is a massive and active volcano. Small, non fatal eruptions are better than one huge one... that being said I hope this doesn't escalate because the evacuation plan is a joke.

Also, around 26 volcanoes are erupting simultaneously right now, which is still within the normal range which is from the teens to 29.
