If guns were legal here then i'd defo own one in case anyone broke into the house in the middle of the night. I wouldn't hesitate about using it either if it came down to protecting myself, my house and my family.

This. Sure guns are used for hunting and home defense but most importantly, and what people often forget, they are used for defense against our government. People ask why someone would need a semi-automatic AR-15 with a large clip? Well 1st, the criminals don't follow gun laws and they are armed with the best weapons. The law abiding citizens also want to be armed with the best weapons. 2nd, the people of the USA can't fight against the government with single shot .22's, shotguns, and pistols. We need some firepower. 3rd, having a well armed populace makes invasion from foreign countries near impossible. People don't think about this now but the USA is not immune from invasion.

Don't buy into the government propaganda people. They have been wanting to disarm us for a while now and they are opportunists. The will surely use this to try and push gun laws. All it will do though is disarm the sane, law abiding people. Nuts will still do mass shootings.

The most violent cities in America are the ones with the strictest gun laws. The safest cities are the ones like Kennesaw, GA where your required to own a gun.

I don't understand why Liberals think that if you take ban guns there will be no more shootings. We banned drugs and everyone can get them. It would be the same with guns but instead of buying them legally, a huge black market would spring up.

Its not a question of "needing" them any more that someone "needs" a certain kind of car or a certain sized TV. We have them because we can if we want to. Period. Who are you to judge what anyone else needs?
