Why do Americans need guns?

an armed society is a polite society

To protect ourselves from a corrupt Government.

Actually, considering all the nutjobs in this country, I would consider self defense and home protection is a good and valid reason as any, and I don't even own one.

So from the few comments that have been made already is for protection. Will the government ban guns in America or is this a no go from the start? Also doesn't each state have its own kind of gun law?

My wife crapped her pants when we first got together....never handled a weapon in her life.....now owns one herself and.....damn if she doesn't shoot better than me...and I am former marine expert....in both small arms and rifles

This country was founded from escaping British tyranny and as a safeguard against future tyranny the founding fathers gave us the right to bear arms in the second amendment of the US constitution. That is why we need them.

The Second Amendment isn't about target shooting,
or deer hunting.
It gives the people, as a last resort to tyranny,
the POWER to overthrow a tyrannical government.

That is WHY we keep and treasure our arsenals of
weapons. No Adolph Hitler could EVER succeed in
America, and no KING could ever conquer us.
