Shock, drugs, and trying to keep it together for the kids. Smiling for a few pictures isn't that hard. I assure you they are not smiling all the time. Not when they wake up each morning and realize this wasn't just a nightmare after sleeping for just a couple of hours at best.

STOP IT!!!!! Just stop right now with look at the happy family! They are in SHOCK! When I found my son dead, I just stared ahead with no emotion in the weeks following my family went out to eat and to movies at least twice a week. We tried so hard to make it right and normal for our other children and ourselves. All of that does not work but you try anyway. You are in Shock and the reality of what has happened has not set in. It has been 8 years for me and I still do not comprehend it. Dont judge these parents because they are not grieving in a way YOU would like them to.

no one knows what parents are going through...no parent should have to look in their child's grave...the OP doesn't know anything about holding a family together specially with more kids involved...GOD foresee that the OP ever has to live up to this nightmare!

I agree with both of you. The OP is a pathetic and sad human being who lacks any sort of empathy and has VERY obviously never suffered a tragic loss. He or she has no clue what it is like to experience a million emotions at once and yet feel numb simultaneously, going through the motions when all you want to do is lie down and die. For all we know, that might have been the first time they smiled in 3 days. Anybody who judges people whose hearts have just been ripped out of their chests and stomped on are truly vile human beings.
