Moreover violent video games have nothing to do with it, it's just a scapegoat so you can avoid the real problem. You're the problem.

Koffee, the substitution of television and computers instead of parenting shape those little minds early on. Machines have become the babysitters. The ones that are so addicted are confronting you on this post, I can spot it. Aggression x 10.
Most parents have never watched the videos that they buy their children. Our society is in trouble.
 Quoting: Anon 12361189

What? Use the TV as a babysitter! Okay, I'm guilty. I have done that in the past, I think many of us have.

Actually, when I think about it, I had them watching Looney Tunes. I mean, how would a young mind comprehend a coyote who does violent acts on this goofy looking bird, falls off a cliff or gets blown up most of the time, dies, but then comes back to life so he can continue do more violent acts?
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task
the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24

"This man really is the Savior of the world!" John 4:42

Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him;
and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.

I think violent video games should have been banned a long time ago.

I know, we live in free country.... but I believe they are deleterious to those who engage in them and add no value.

Re: Colorado governor points to VIOLENCE in VIDEO GAMES
I know many say that if the guns were not easily available those precious children would still be alive.

When mentally imbalanced people want or need something, or have a devious plan to carry out, they WILL take extreme measures to achieve their goal.

Once my mom became addicted to pills, the funds weren't always there to afford them.

She received an allowance from my dad for groceries and our school lunches, but it all went towards her prescriptions--and he didn't know this.

She would send my sister and me to our neighbor's home to steal money out of this huge "change" jar they had sitting on top of their refrigerator. It was only enough for our school lunches each week.

I used to suspect that our neighbors knew we were doing this, as there door was never locked and they knew the dire situation that was going on in our home and had compassion towards us children.

If this young, disturbed man had a PLAN to kill, he thought it out. If guns were not available as the means to carry out his goal, he would've found another way.
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task
the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24

When we where kids, back in the 1950s... we didn't have video games.

Nah, we watched TV and Movies and we watch Cowboy and Indian, and WWII combat movies.

WE then after our alloted 1 hour a day TV or a once a month movie at the theaters, we went outside to play.

We used sun dried clods for stones, sticks for swords, shields out of plywood scraps, buckets for helmets.. use used short two by fours for rifles, we made bows and dull 'arrows', and wooden knifes. We had battles on the hills, the forests, the grass field, the roads... we had mock wars... and people got hurt, knots on heads, skinned knees and arms, dirt in the eyes, bruises. We learned it hurts.

Later on in the 1960s some of those 1950s went to real War.. some died come back alive, some have never come back. Many of them had been Drafted.

PinGun is pussified compared to what we kids did as 'war games' in the 1950s and early 60s.

But I sit as nearly a 60 year old guy now, watching this teenage and pre-teen grandkids playing their Violent Video games and see how focused in, how mesmerized they are, how hypnotized they are -- and I see kids that are removed from reality of physical HURT. I see these kids killing real people on video screens running lethal air-drones, and land robot drones.. thinking it is all a game.

Yet, most of them if you drop a book on the hard-floor behind them will almost shit their pants.

Oh, we didn't have SSRI's back then. Psychos went to the Pysch-wards and rarely were ever seen again.

Legal Drugs kill thousands upon thousands of people in the USA, likely Millions in the world every year... and that is not because of Violent Video Games... its because of Sorcery called Pharmaceuticals in the hands of mega profit, mega corporations and backed by their Stock Holders holding Shares on Wall St.

Yeah, that too.. how many murders and rapes per day on TV and in the Movies, daily... since many many people are not even watching much TV, but they are watching on Hulu and Netflix and DVDs.

I have total Paranoid Schizophrenia
I've been playing video games since I was 10 yrs. old.
Not a big fan of the Man vs Man (Human killing Human) Military FPS mostly because my computers and/or internet connection never quite get up to current speed and rapidly become obsolete to the extent that I can't compete on equal terms, not that I don't try sometimes, and I have played more than my fair share of every type of video game since they became available to the public, the last 31 years.
I play video games every day.
I honesty estimate that in in reality of this material World the score of people that have done something positive for me and I for them as just about completely even. Hovever on the other hand, if you want to compare acts of blantantly heionus harm towards me vs me doing rotten shit to other people the publics ratio is 235million/1
Yet I'm viewed as a complete psycopath to the point of forced retardation on all levels. And you might think that I have some sort of plot for vengence running through my mind due to a malformed brain from genetic disease that could possibly become manifest from the violence in video games?

hell theres violence in the news
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 419649

War Gore Porn, coming right in from the NEWS.. Don't blame just TV though, thousands of War Gore on YouTube of dead bodies, dismembered, blown apart of Gaza, Syria.. etc. But we don't see in the "news" (and remember the Internet is NEWS too) US Troops coffins coming back from 'wars'... no, that's 'disrespectful'.

If it bleeds, it leads..

ANd the MSM sensationalizes all this crap.. a story will be told over and over and over and over for weeks on end, the same item, the same event.. three to five only but hour after hour, day after day, sometimes week after week.

And yet, when it comes to the complete follow through of criminal investigations and court trails .. well.. its 2 minutes and never seen again.

Maybe it is time to bring back public executions for a year or three. And I meant at the town square in public.

I have yet to see someone being shot with a video game. As far as I know it is always done by people who do real-life gun training, often encouraged by their parents. But keep on killing your children and keep on blaming games for things real guns did.
