Then delicately bite down and crack it open at the seam. It will splay open for you, just like your first girlfriend did that one time, way back when. Remember that? Next, lightly bite into the seed and remove the husk. Finally, chew the seed. With this simple technique, which takes a little practice, you get some of the salt taste, too. And no, don't eat the shells, for crying out loud. Who know where they've been... |

I liked the salted pumpkin seeds too, and chew generally the shells and if they chew I swallow them, if not a spit them out. salt does not hurt you by the way, it is not the source of high blood pressure, hardening arteries and stress are. |

_Obsidian_ User ID: 30619237 United States 01/13/2013 07:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I personally avoid the shells I don't think we digest them very well. "Only one candle left to burn now, before the darkness comes" "Happiness consumes itself like a flame. It cannot burn for ever, it must go out, and the presentiment of its end destroys it at its very peak." "But what is Hope? Nothing but the paint on the face of Existence; the least touch of truth rubs it off, and then we see what a hollow-cheeked harlot we have got hold of" |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 31894299 Spain 01/13/2013 08:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have this bag of roasted salted sunflower seeds Quoting: Balloons I am wondering about if i am suposed to eat them whole or pick the seeds out of the shells first. The shells are salted so if i open up the shells and eat only the seeds, then there is no meaning to have salted them in the first place, and when i eat a bunch with shells and all i am left with this chump of wood like mass from the shells that allso get stuck in my gums and stuff. What to do? Gosh no..they can give you appendicitis..not the shells! |

M1.618 User ID: 6209152 Canada 01/22/2013 04:04 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ASDT or Advanced Shell Disposal Technique: OP you can take a page of an old brochure and roll it up into a cone, spit the shells in there and then dispose the whole thing. Positive for loafing and the environment. Saving the resources used to clean a alternate vessel for shells is greater than recycling the paper cone. Be certain to fill it and not have some smart uncle smack it out of your hand because he thinks he is funny, unless you are at his house. wmMmw |
