...there are other ways or methods to defend yourselves from "rogue government".

This will go through an assault helmet I assure you.

As far as guns go: either everyone has access or noone has access. I prefer freedom of choice and not regulations that tell me I cannot own a firearm.

In the latter scenario there have to be strict measures taken to ensure the Columbines cannot be repeated. Safe-zones maybe. If you allow access to firearms you are inevitably going towards invasive checkpoints at every public access building like schools. That would be the price for freedom. Maybe even additional GPS tracking for every legal weapon built into the firearm itself. If you are a straight shooter this should not concern or worry you. If however you stockpile and come 100 yards near a public building an alert goes off in that building. Or something.

I don't see anyone going on a killing spree with slingshots btw. Or crossbows.

So what about the GPS idea?

Any thoughts?

It is already implemented in cars - why not guns?

I´m sure you can fire nearly one slingshot bullet per second with practice.

They are deadly weapons for sure!

No offense intended by your country has a brief history and not too deep at that with living free, so please do not preach to us about how we should handle our laws herein this country,

The fact is murders have been going down for years, not up. What we are dealing with here is a created situation aided and abetted by the media hype to move us towards eliminating another one of our consitutionally guaranteed rights and responsibilities, that is the issue.

I am agreeing with you if you read my post well - and Spain is not my country, I only work there.

Not trying to rain on your parade - this country feels much more free than the U.S. - believe me.

And yes it is easy to get a license for weapons for hunting and sports but still there are much less weapons in circulation. People fear less here.
